Lorde fans are taking to Twitter in droves to accuse Taylor Swift of destroying the quirky New Zealand musician's sound.
The backlash comes in the wake of Lorde releasing her new single "Green Light" last week.
"Sounds like Taylor Swift puked into my ears. How could you do this to me, Lorde?" one tweeted.
Another complained, "'Green Light' doesn't even sound like a Lorde song. It sounds like a Taylor Swift song."
It's fair to note that any resemblance in the two singers' respective sounds is likely due to the fact that Jack Antonoff produced "Green Light" as well as many of the hits off Taylor's 1989.
For what it's worth, Taylor made it clear upon the release of "Green Light" that she was a huge fan of the song.
"Just gonna make up an interpretive dance to this magnificent bop for the ages," she wrote on Instagram last week alongside an image of the single's cover art.
