Nicole Kidman has finally explained that jewelry is to blame for her awkward seal clap at the 2017 Oscars, which went viral online during the show.
“I was like, ‘I wanna clap, I don’t wanna not be clapping’ that’d be worse, right? Like ‘Why isn’t Nicole clapping?’”
Kidman recalled of the clap during an Australian radio interview Wednesday.
“So therefore I’m clapping but it was really difficult because I had a huge ring on that was not my own but it was absolutely gorgeous and I was terrified of damaging it.”
As Us Weekly points out, the rings were part of an expensive Harry Winston collection.
