HBO is planning 4 ‘Game of Thrones’ Spinoffs As Series Approaches Final Seasons

Four "Game of Thrones" spinoffs could be in the works.

HBO has closed deals with four writers "to each explore different time periods of George R. R. Martin's vast and rich universe.” 

George is the "Game of Thrones" author.The four writers are Max Borenstein (writer of monster pics 'Godzilla' and 'Kong: Skull Island'), Jane Goldman (who penned 'X-Men: First Class'), Brian Helgeland (writer of 'LA Confidential', 'A Knight's Tale and Mystic River') and Carly Wray ('Mad Men' and 'The Leftovers').

HBO says: "There is no set timetable for these projects. We'll take as much or as little time as the writers need and, as with all our development, we will evaluate what we have when the scripts are in."
