Selena Gomez's Mom Gives Her Two-Cents About Working With Woody Allen

Selena Gomez is in Woody Allen's next film “A Rainy Day in New York.” After Timothee Chalamet donated his salary for the film to charity, fans started asking Selena to do the same.

Her mom replied to a fan on Instagram who asked Selena for an apology for working with Woody Allen with this statement, “Sorry, No one can make Selena do anything she doesn't want to. I had a long talk with her about not working with him and it didn't click. Her team are amazing people. There is no fall person here. No one controls her. She makes all her own decisions. No matter how hard you try to advise. It falls on deaf ears.”

Selena Gomez received some backlash from fans for not joining her costars' charitable actions in the wake of sexual abuse claims against Allen.

A source close to Selena said she hasn’t made a public statement against the Allen, but she did make a significant donation anonymously to the Times Up Legal Defense fund that “far exceeded her salary of him.”
