Amazon To Open Second Cashier-Free Grocery Store In NYC

On Friday, Amazon announced that it's planning to open its second-ever cashier-less Amazon Go outpost somewhere in New York City, although there's no timeline yet as to when the store will debut.

Reuters notes that Amazon Go shoppers scan an app to enter the store; cameras and sensors then track what customers take off the shelves and bill their credit cards automatically as they leave.

The first Amazon Go store opened in Seattle in January.

In May, the company said it plans to add Amazon Go stores in San Francisco and Chicago as well.
