The Justice Department announced on Thursday that Dumb and Dumber To and Daddy's Home were both produced using tens of millions of dollars that were stolen from a Malaysian government investment fund.

The discovery follows last year's news that Martin Scorsese's The Wolf of Wall Street was likewise financed from the more than $4.5 billion stolen from the Malaysian fund between 2009 and 2015.

The money was laundered through shell companies and partly funneled through L.A. production company Red Granite Pictures.

Feds are now laying claim to all rights and profits from the three films in an attempt to recover $1.7 billion.
