The future of the Tom Holland-led Spider-Man franchise is in doubt due to a profit-sharing dispute between Marvel Studios and Sony.
Deadline confirmed on Tuesday that Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige will not produce any further Spider-Man films because Disney and Sony Pictures failed to reach new terms that would have given the former a co-financing stake going forward.
According to sources, Disney asked that futureSpider-Man films be a 50/50 co-financing arrangement between the studios, but Sony turned that offer down.
BuzzFeed News reports that negotiations between the studios remain ongoing, meaning Sony's future Spider-Man movies could remain a part of the MCU.
