Justin Timberlake took to Instagram Wednesday to address the recent reports that he was spotted holding hands with co-star Alisha Wainwright at a New Orleans bar last month, while the two were shooting the movie Palmer together.
Timberlake said he was speaking up because the talk was "hurting the people I love," adding "nothing happened between me and my costar. I drank way too much that night and I regret my behavior."
Timberlake went on to apologize to his wife Jessica Biel and family "for putting them through such an embarrassing situation," and also said his behavior was not a good example to set for his son Silas. Since the incident took place, sources have repeatedly said that there was nothing going on between the two, and that the co-stars were like brother and sister.
Despite that, Timberlake obviously felt guilty about the situation, and also wrote, "I am focused on being the best husband and father I can be. This was not that."
