A little girl in Scotland is making headlines for writing a sweet letter requesting a park swing for her brother with disabilities.
The Huffington Post reports that 8-year-old Naomi Gwynne recently wrote a letter addressed to “park builders” and explained that her twin brother Isaac is “too big for a baby swing and can’t hold on to the bars of the grown-up swings.”
Isaac is nonverbal and has neurofibromatosis type 1, a condition characterized by changes in skin coloring and the growth of tumors along nerves in the skin and brain.
Naomi continued, “His favorite thing is a swing and we are both sad why did you forget about him?”
The city council has since responded to Naomi’s letter and noted that they are looking into whether “the existing swing frame can incorporate a disabled seat for Isaac.”
