MTV announced this week that it is bringing back it’s popular, daily music video countdown show Total Request Live in June.
Us Weekly reports that the show will be rebooted in a different format, tentatively called MTV Live, on June 12.
“That ability to be live, in culture--not responding to it but driving it--is where we belong,” MTV President Chris McCarthy says of rebranding the network to reach today’s teen audience.
The new show will broadcast live from the same Times Square studio that served as the home of the original TRL, which aired from 1998 to 2008.
