Netflix has accused its users of something deeply upsetting: that they've collectively wasted half a billion hours streaming Adam Sandler movies between December 2015 and now.
Sandler's film The Ridiculous 6 was the first of an exclusive four-movie deal that the star signed with Netflix. It was viewed more in its first 30 days than any other film on the streaming service.
Despite this, The Ridiculous 6 has a 0 percent rating on Rotten Tomatoes. To further illustrate the point, a film critic for The New York Times once wrote that Sandler's movies "will make your children stupid."
But people still can't get enough of them. "We continue to be excited by our Sandler relationship and our members continue to be thrilled with his films," Netflix writes in its just-released Q1 earnings report.
