A Boston medical marijuana dispensary has made a cannabis-infused pizza for patients who don't want to smoke the drug.
The six-inch pie costs $38, and it's sold by a large marijuana business called Ermont Inc. It is topped with a potent tomato sauce, that's infused with THC.
That's the psychoactive compound in marijuana, and it’sequal to a quarter of a joint, or 12 doses of medical edibles.
Ermont says the pizza has already been a huge success, with around 200 pizzas in the first three weeks.
Only those holding a medical marijuana ID can purchase the personal-sized cheese dish. Customers are limited to only buying two of the frozen pies at a time and if they want toppings, they'll have to add their own.
Ermont Inc came up with the idea because they wanted to offer meals that patients could eat without lots of sugar.
