When a new Windows 10 update for PCs arrives this fall, the graphics editing program Microsoft Paint will no longer be on it.
Although Microsoft announced last week that the 32-year-old program would be put out to pasture, the company has since downplayed Paint's ending. "MS Paint is not going away," the company tells The New York Times, noting that many of its features will exist in other programs, while Paint will continue to be available for free download.
Meanwhile, Twitter is mourning Paint with tweets like, "Microsoft Paint was as defining an element of my childhood (and beyond). I will miss it, regardless of whatever flaws it had."
