Maren Morris Drops New Song, “Dear Hate”, In Response To Las Vegas Shooting

Maren Morris has responded to the mass shooting in Las Vegas on Sunday by sharing a previously unreleased track called “Dear Hate,” which features Vince Gill.

“I never knew when would be the right time [to release it],” Morris writes about the track on Twitter. “But I realized today that there’s never a right time. Hate is everywhere and I’m sick of not doing enough. In the darkest tunnel, there is still love & music.”

In the song, Morris sings lyrics such as, “Dear hate / I saw you on the news today / Like a shock it takes my breath away / You fall like rain / Cover us in drops of pain / I’m afraid that we just might drown.”

She recorded the track three years ago.
