AHS: Cult Tones Down Violent Scene After Las Vegas Shooting

American Horror Story: Cult co-creator Ryan Murphy says he edited Tuesday's episode of the show following the mass shooting in Las Vegas last week.

“My point of view was I believe I have the right to air it, but I also believe in victims' rights,” Murphy explained in a new interview this week.

“And I believe that now is probably not the week to have something explosive or incendiary in the culture because someone who was affected might watch that and it could trigger something or make them feel upset.”

According to the AP, the opening sequence of tonight’s episode originally featured a graphic portrayal of gun violence; it was filmed two months ago.

While the edited version will air on FX, the unedited version will be available through the network's on-demand platforms.
