Gerber announced on Wednesday that 1-year-old Lucas Warren of Dalton, Georgia, will be their 2018 Spokesbaby, marking the first time that a child with Down Syndrome has won the title.
“We’re hoping this will impact everyone--that it will shed a little bit of light on the special needs community and help more individuals with special needs be accepted and not limited,” Lucas’ dad Jason Warren said on TODAY.
“They have the potential to change the world, just like everybody else.” The Gerber Baby contest began in 2010.
