A Los Angeles-based artist named Jonas Never has painted over a mural he created of LeBron James in a Lakers jersey thanks to multiple instances of vandalism.
According to ESPN, critics first spray-painted "We Don't Want You," "No King" and "3-6" over the mural, which was on the wall of a Venice barbecue restaurant; later, someone splashed yellow paint on it.
Among other things, critics apparently thought the mural's tagline "King of L.A." denigrates retired Lakers star Kobe Bryant.
"I thought I had learned a long time ago to never touch religion or politics," Never told ESPN. "I guess it is never touch religion, politics or anyone against Kobe."
