On Monday, Pete Davidson suddenly and mysteriously wiped his Instagram account clean of all pictures and videos--while at the same time, his fiancée Ariana Grande disabled comments on her own Instagram account.
After fans speculated that the pair had broken up, the two explained why they were taking a step back from social media.
"There's nothing wrong," Davidson said in a statement. "I just don't wanna be on Instagram anymore, or on any social media platform. The internet is an evil place, and it doesn't make me feel good. Why should I spend any time on negative energy when my real life is f**king lit? ...I love you all, and I'm sure I'll be back at some point."
Meanwhile, Grande tweeted, "The energy u put out is exactly what u get back, please create a beautiful life for yourselves."
