WATCH: Wind-Blown Reporter Did Not Expect Kids In Shorts To Spoil Shot

Weather Channel reporter Mike Seidel is being mocked for what appears to be an incredibly exaggerated live weather report from Wilmington, North Carolina.

The clip shows Seidel struggling to maintain his balance during the strong winds of Hurricane Florence--despite the fact that two other people can be seen easily walking by him in the background.

Viewers were quick to mock Seidel for his theatrics on Twitter. "Dude from the Weather Channel bracing for his life, as two dudes just stroll by," one noted.

Another quipped, "And the Oscar goes to..." The Weather Channel has since defended the broadcast.

"It’s important to note that the two individuals in the background are walking on concrete, and Mike Seidel is trying to maintain his footing on wet grass, after reporting on-air until 1:00 a.m. ET this morning and is undoubtedly exhausted," a spokesperson tells People.
