Sony released a first look at Tom Hanks in the upcoming biopic about television host Mr. Rogers on Thursday.
The photo shows a gray-haired Hanks sitting in the doorway of his on-set trailer, wearing a red zip-up cardigan, khaki slacks, and blue sneakers.
The untitled film is being directed by Marielle Heller (Diary of a Teenage Girl) from a script written by Micah Fitzerman-Blue and Noah Harpster.
The film is inspired by the real-life friendship between Rogers and a journalist named Tom Junod.
It is scheduled for release in October 2019.
