"Wonder Woman 1984" Is Unfortunately Coming Later Than We Thought

 

Warner Bros. announced Monday that the release date for Wonder Woman 1984 has been pushed back seven months to June 5, 2020. 

While the change was first announced by the film’s star Gal Gadot on Twitter, the news was also confirmed by Warner president of domestic distribution, Jeff Goldstein. 

“We had tremendous success releasing the first Wonder Woman film during the summer, so when we saw an opportunity to take advantage of the changing competitive landscape, we did," he explained. 

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the first Wonder Woman film grossed more than $412 million in North America and $821.8 million globally. 

Its sequel was originally was scheduled for December 2019, but moved up to November 1 of that year when Lucasfilm set Star Wars: Episode IX for a holiday premiere.
