On March 26, Alaska resident Nova Knight made a video urging people to wash their hands and stay safe during the pandemic, according to the Associated Press. “I’m sorry if you can’t go to your play dates,” the five-year-old said in the March 26 video.
“Don’t go anywhere. And wash your hands. I’m serious.” Nova was so serious while making the video that she asked her mother to redo it after seeing her first take. “Could we do one more?” her mother said she asked. “I just don’t think they know how serious I am.”
The video has been seen over 18,000 times and was even noticed by Canada Prime Minister Justin Trudeau. Nova's grandmother posted her video as a response to a tweet by Trudeau. He responded, "please let your granddaughter know I’m glad she’s helping to spread the word."
When Nova found out, she said, "this is the best day of my life,” she said. Nova has since done two more videos. She plans to be a doctor when she grows up.
“I want to be there when somebody needs me,” she told her mother.
