THE CARVING THE PUMPKIN HACK
UT THE HOLE IN THE BOTTOM, NOT THE TOP
Everybody cuts the lid off the top, and every year that lid falls in. Flip it. Cut your opening in the bottom of the pumpkin instead. You scoop the guts out the same way, then you just set the pumpkin down over your light. No wobbly lid, no burnt fingers reaching in to light a candle, and the stem stays on top looking perfect. And use an ice cream scoop for the guts. It works way better than that tiny plastic thing in the carving kit.
