After MTV’s Video Music Awards went without a traditional emcee in 2016, Katy Perry has been revealed as the host of this year’s telecast, which will air live on August 27 from Los Angeles.
“I’ve been training with MTV in zero gravity, eating astronaut ice cream, and I’m on a group text with Buzz Aldrin and Neil deGrasse Tyson. Come August 27th, I’ll be ready to be your MOONWOMAN! Brace for impact, kids,” Perry, who’s nominated for five VMAs, said in a statement.
Past chart-toppers who’ve hosted the VMAs include Miley Cyrus & P. Diddy.
