Katie Couric has finally broken her silence on Matt Lauer in the wake of his firing from NBC for alleged sexual misconduct.
Couric, who spent 15 years co-hosting TODAY with Lauer, was slammed by an Instagram user over the weekend for remaining silent on the scandal. "Nothing to say on Matt?" user Candace Taylor Benson wrote.
"Just goes to show you really can’t trust people. He interviewed people on their moral character and had none himself." She added, "I want time back I spent watching! And you have nothing to say. Crickets. People hear you loud and clear though."
Couric responded by writing, "It's incredibly upsetting and I will say something when I'm ready to. Thanks for your interest." Benson, perhaps shocked that Couric actually addressed her comment, went on to thank the TV host.
