Taylor Swift posted on Instagram that she "couldn't have asked for a better year" at the end of her 28th birthday on Wednesday, so of course, the haters were gonna hate.
The pop superstar wrote to her fans, "I love you guys so much" and that her great year was "all thanks to you."
Nevertheless, social media blew up.
One person summed it up by responding, "I mean, yeah there were Nazis and white supremacy marches, and families were torn apart, and there were mass shootings, and people are losing health care, but none of that affects me, so 2017 was great!"
Fans stood up for her, including one who wrote, "Apparently @taylorswift13 can't even experience happiness without people hating on her..."
