Kim Kardashian is being accused of cultural appropriation after she shared an Instagram photo of herself with corn rows and captioned it "Bo Derek braids"--a nod to the actress' iconic look in the movie 10. Critics quickly began calling her a culture vulture.
"They are called Fulani braids or some may even say corn rows. You could of called them either one, but you called them 'Bo derek,' giving credit to a white woman for a black style," one critic wrote.
Another commented, "Kim Kardashian should have learned by now how to properly deal with black culture and considering she has three black kids, this behavior is disturbing."
Interestingly, the only criticism that seemed to upset Kim was from Lindsay Lohan, who commented on the photo, "I'm confused." Kardashian snapped back, "You know what's confusing...your sudden foreign accent."
