On a live episode of The Tonight Show that aired after the Super Bowl, Jimmy Fallon and Justin Timberlake teamed up for a sketch called "Songversation" in which they sang all of their conversation.
Singer-songwriter India.Arie has since taken to Twitter to accuse Fallon of appropriating the title of her fifth albumSongVersation.
"I hear the @jimmyfallon show appropriated my sacred word #songversation last night for a skit," she tweeted. "Just be clear, I'm offended. THIS not what I have cultivated this word for. Nope. #Songversation was not created as a place for @jimmyfallon to make jokes. Smh."
She continued, "I demand that my life's work be RESPECTED. Do not TOY with #Songversation. I know it's not personal to you @jimmyfallon, but it IS personal to me. Now that you know... please DO NOT do that... #Songversation is sacred. Respect it. Respect me."
