Proving that girls really do run the world, Beyoncé and JAY-Z's daughter Blue Ivy stole the show at the Wearable Art Gala in L.A. this weekend when she bid $19,000 of her parents' hard-earned money on an acrylic painting of the actor Sidney Poitier.
People notes that Star Jones was emceeing the auction and that JAY-Z playfully tried to take Blue Ivy's auction paddle away from her after her first bid of $17,000. However, she raised the stakes to $19,000 before ultimately being outbid by Tyler Perry at $20,000.
Later on, Blue--who wore a gold ensemble that matched Bey's outfit--won another piece of art at the bargain price of $10,000.
Meanwhile, Twitter had a field day joking about Blue's silver-spoon childhood. "Blue Ivy buying art work $19K is bound to be a rap lyric someday," one Twitter user wrote.
"'You b**ches so broke, I swear you make me sick / I been getting 19K in art since I was only 6.'"
