Kelly Clarkson learns to embrace her past in the powerful music video for her latest single “I Don’t Think About You.”
Released on Tuesday, the visual shows numerous hardships the singer has faced in her life--including a rocky family situation during her childhood, a troubling boyfriend in her teen years and battling management as she entered the early stages of her career.
The flashbacks are cut with footage of present-day Clarkson performing the tune while standing on a platform in a black gown.
She is ultimately joined on the platform by the ghosts of her past, signaling that they helped her become who she is today.
“I Don’t Think About You” appears on Clarkson’s recent LP Meaning of Life.
