Britney Spears' LGBT fans went "Crazy" for the pop star Thursday night at the GLAAD Media Awards in L.A.
USA Today reports that when the 36-year-old icon received a thunderous standing ovation when she to the stage to accept the organization's Vanguard Award. "Wow! This is so incredibly amazing," Spears said in a brief acceptance speech.
"Our society has always put such an emphasis on what's normal and to be different...is seen as strange. To be accepted unconditionally...is such a blessing."
After she left the stage, the audience seemed in disarray, prompting awards host Wanda Sykes to remark, "Britney has broken the show."
Big Bang Theory star Jim Parsons later said while accepting an award for his gay activism, "Britney got here before I did? The queen should go last!"
Other winners this year included This Is Us for Outstanding Television Drama and the foreign film A Fantastic Woman for Outstanding Limited Release Film.
