"Beyoncé Mass" At San Fran Church Draws Hundreds Of Fans

Beyoncé superfans got in "Formation" at San Francisco's Grace Cathedral Wednesday night for the house of worship's first-ever "Beyoncé Mass."

The San Francisco Chronicle reports that the service began with the Destiny's Child hit "Survivor" and included other Bey hits like "Freedom" and "Flaws and All" before ending with "I Was Here."

The idea sprang from a class called “Beyoncé and the Hebrew Bible” taught by the Rev. Yolanda Norton at the San Francisco Theological Seminary.

"When we talk about womanist biblical interpretation, Beyoncé felt like a natural fit," says Norton, who delivered the service's sermon.

Said worshipper Xan West, "I thought it was really great. Hearing Beyoncé with a full band felt like hearing her music in a new way."

No word on whether anyone was spotted wearing a "Halo" in the crowd.
