There has been a huge legal battle between the two retailer giants because it seems like Target has ripped off Burberry's signature plaid look.
The 8-million dollar trademark infringement and counterfeit lawsuit Burberry filed in New York Wednesday states that target has been using the similar print for the past year and will not stop.
Not only has Target been using the print for scarves but also for water bottles, luggage, and eyewear.
While Burberry claims that “Target’s copycat scarves are of inferior quality, they are superficially indistinguishable from genuine Burberry scarves.”
A representative for Target stated, "At Target, we have great respect for design rights. We are aware of the filing by Burberry and hope to address the matter in a reasonable manner."
Yikes.
