Kristen Bell credits her husband Dax Shepard for inspiring her to speak publicly about her struggles with depression and anxiety.
"I'm grateful to my husband for saying, 'No, you should just talk about it.' Like he talks about the fact that he's sober, and that helps people," Bell recently told TODAY.
"And I now have not stopped talking about it, mainly because I want people to hear that it's not a big deal and that you can be happy and healthy."
The actress also admitted that she wished she'd opened up about mental health sooner.
"It occurred to me that I was showing this very bubbly, bright persona and that it was inauthentic. Because it wasn’t telling the whole story," she noted.
To the man who I've known for an eternity yet learn new things about everyday; who has been with me through thick and thin(and loved my 47lbs of baby weight); who is as interested in PDA as I am; who tattooed my last name on his ring finger beacuse he hates jewelry; who always puts up our Xmas lights; and who never fails to mock my red carpet pose. I love u with my whole ♥️@daxshepard
