John Goodman Breaks His Silence After Roseanne Barr Controversy

John Goodman has touched on the cancellation of Roseanne following Roseanne Barr's racist tweet comparing former Obama aid Valerie Jarrett, a black woman, to an ape.

"It's not that I disrespect you guys, it's just that I would rather say nothing than to cause more trouble," he tells paparazzi in a video obtained by Entertainment Tonight

He adds of the controversy, "I don't know anything about it. I don't read it...Everything's fine."

Goodman also shrugs off reports that the fallout could cause him to lose an Emmy nomination.

"I wasn't gonna get an Emmy anyway," he says. "I've been up there [11] times already, and if I didn't get one I'm not gonna get one."
