Demi Lovato’s mother Dianna De La Garza admits her daughter’s near-fatal overdose in June is a “difficult thing to talk about.
“I literally start to shake a little bit when I start to remember what happened that day,” De La Garza tells Newsmax TV.
She goes on to explain that TMZ learned of the 26-year-old singer's overdose before she did. “I was in shock," she admits. "I didn’t know what to say. It was just something that I never, ever expected to hear, as a parent, about any of my kids.”
De La Garza says that Lovato is doing much better now. "She’s working on her sobriety, and she’s getting the help she needs," she notes.
"That in itself encourages me about her future and about the future of our family."
