It was confirmed Monday that Taylor Swift recently donated $15,500 to a 19-year-old fan struggling to support her family financially.
People reports that the 28-year-old Grammy winner reached out to a fan named Sadie after a post she made online was brought to her attention.
“My mom has been in a coma for three years now,” Sadie wrote alongside a link to her family’s GoFundMe page. “She had an ulcer that bled out that led to lack of oxygen to the brain which resulted in brain damage.”
Sadie went on to reveal that her mother fell into a coma two days before she saw the 1989 tour, adding, “I’m grateful to Taylor for keeping me afloat through it all.”
Taylor made her donation through the online campaign, simply signing the donation, “Love, Taylor, Meredith and Olivia Swift.”
The GoFundMe has raised nearly $26,000 so far.
