ET reports that the whole thing started this past weekend when Halsey wrote alongside an Instagram video that shows her strumming a guitar, "This Is Your Brain on Writer’s Block: Everything I write today sounds like my a MySpace song in 2008 or a poorly disguised Beatles ripoff. Someone send help."
Mayer replied in a comment, "I can be over to break your heart in 20?"
The 24-year-old Halsey and 41-year-old Mayer have sparked romance rumors for weeks thanks to their super-flirty social-media comments, such as last month when Mayer liked a pic of Halsey's, then wrote, "Mine is the 'like' of a gentleman."
