P!nk received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame yesterday. She was joined by her two kids and her husband Corey Hart.
While accepting the star, she said, “This is surreal. It has been a trip lately thinking back over the course of this career I’ve somehow managed to have. I signed my first record deal 23 years ago.” She went on to reflect on the obstacles she overcame in her long career, including her decision to drop out of an unsuccessful girl group and get clean from drugs.
Pink also said, “I have achieved exactly what I wanted to achieve. Because I always knew what my strong points were. I don’t sell sex, I don’t sell perfume, I’m not the prettiest, I’m not the best. I’m f–king hard-looking and I have enough talent and I work on my f–king craft and I put my head down and I win.”
She did thank her fans and her husband by saying,“Thank you to my fans — you guys make it matter. Thank you for coming. My husband — he’s so cute. He’s my muse and if he didn’t piss me off all the time I’d have not much to say. I wouldn’t be standing up here if it wasn’t for you. Never change. My children — you guys are my stars and I would never shine without you.”
Ellen DeGeneres and comedian Kerri Kenney-Silver also spoke at the ceremony.
Pink's star is located next to Jackie Chan's and Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson's in front of the Dolby Theater.
