Tom Holland Was Never Given Full “Avengers: Endgame” Script

The directors ofAvengers: Endgame decided the best way to avoid spoilers was to make sure actor Tom Holland, who portrays Peter Parker/Spider-Man, never received a full script.

“Tom Holland gets his lines and that’s it. He doesn’t even know who he’s acting opposite of,” Joe Russo tells IndieWire. “We’ll just, we use like very vague terms to describe to him what is happening in the scene, because he has a very difficult time keeping his mouth shut.”

The confirmation comes after Holland basically admitted as much at the ACE Comic Con Phoenix event last year. At the time he said, “The Russo Brothers are like ‘so you’re just standing here, and you’re fighting this guy and just do whatever,’ and I’m like, ‘OK, who am I fighting?’ And they were like, ‘Well, we can’t tell you because it’s a secret.’”

Holland indirectly spoiled the ending toAvengers: Infinity Warwhile introducing a special screening of the film last year.
