Britney Spears has checked into a mental health facility. Page Six reports the singer has been in the facility for about a week after struggling to cope with her dad Jamie's recent colon condition.
"Britney was having a hard time dealing with her dad's health issues," an insider confirms. "Britney hasn't been drinking or doing drugs or anything, she just has some very difficult emotional and mental health issues. She's gone away to try to deal with her issues before they get worse."
Her dad's colon spontaneously ruptured in November and he was scheduled to have another surgery last month. Jamie has been her conservator since 2008 when she dealt with a bipolar diagnosis.
Us Weekly reports that, while she's away, Spears' sons are with their father Kevin Federline.
