JT's got a PhD! Justin Timberlake and Missy Elliott both received honorary doctorates this past weekend from the Berklee College of Music in Boston.
"Oh, y'all messed up giving me this award. I thought I had a big head before," the 38-year-old Timberlake joked. "This is surreal...Can't tell me nothing now! I'm a doctor!"
He went on to admit, "When I was young, I felt like a weirdo. I felt like I didn't belong. I look around this room and I feel like I found all the rest of the weirdos. You're all right here! You know what I mean? It only took me 38 years."
He later teared up while thanking wife Jessica Biel and mom Lynn Bomar Harless for their support. Meanwhile,Essencenotes that Elliott is the first female rapper to be honored by the college. She told graduates in an emotional speech, "There will be ups and downs. Prepare for that, but don't give up."
