Chris Hemsworth was almost a part of the X-Men franchise instead of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Hemsworth makes the reveal in a new interview with Variety, noting that he was struggling to find work during his first several years in Hollywood after starring on the Australian soap opera Home and Away from 2004-2007.
"I got very close to G.I. Joe. I got very close to Gambit in the WolverineX-Men movies," Hemsworth recalls. "At the time I was upset. I was running out of money. But if I had played either of those characters, I wouldn't have been able to play Thor."
Hemsworth ultimately landed the title role in Thor in 2011.
