Beyoncé and Donald Glover are among the artists who put a fresh spin on Disney classics on the new soundtrack for The Lion King. Out now, the soundtrack features Queen Bey and Glover teaming up for a Pharrell Williams-produced version of “Can You Feel the Love Tonight.”
Glover also joins forces with Billy Eichner, Seth Rogen and JD McCrary (who voices young Simba) on a new version of “Hakuna Matata.”
Beyoncé’s new song “Spirit"--which was inspired by the film and appears on a separate compilation LP--also makes the tracklist of the original soundtrack.
Other highlights include Elton John’s new song “Never Too Late,” which plays over the credits, and Lebo M.’s “He Lives in You”--which was originally written for the stage musical and featured in The Lion King 2.
The film hits theaters on July 19.
