Liam Hemsworth has shared his first official statement on his split from Miley Cyrus.
On Instagram, he posted a gorgeous sunset beach photo and wrote, "Just a quick note to say that Miley and I have recently separated, and I wish her nothing but health and happiness going forward. This is a private matter and I have not made, nor will I be making, any comments to any journalists or media outlets."
He went on to add that "any reported quotes attributed to me are false," which seems to insinuate that the Daily Mail Australia-published quote reportedly said by him about the split might not be real.
Hemsworth and Cyrus, who were married for less than a year, announced their separation over the weekend.
