On the red carpet of her fifth annual Diamond Ball at New York's Cipriani Wall Street on Thursday, Rihanna told Essence, "I’m a black woman. I came from a black woman, who came from a black woman, who came from a black woman, and I’m going to give birth to a black woman."
As Heavy notes, observers quickly latched on to the "I'm going to give birth to a black woman" portion of that quote to speculate on Twitter that Rihanna is pregnant.
Beyond her words, some pointed to the possible baby bump Rihanna was sporting while performing alongside Pharrell Williams at the charity event, which also featured Seth Meyers and DJ Khaled.
Rihanna has yet to confirm or deny the rumor.
