Nick Jonas will be joining the 18th season ofThe Voice as a coach, Deadline reports.
The singer and one-third of The Jonas Brothers announced the news Monday on TheEllen Degeneres Show. After Jonas first told Ellen he was hoping to break the news on Tuesday, she responded by rolling a selfie video fromVoice coach Blake Shelton, who technically spilled Jonas' secret.
Shelton also joked, "I'm not sure that you're even old enough to be a coach on TheVoice, but I'm certain that you'er gonna get your butt kicked."
Meanwhile, season 18 coach John Legend suggested he and Jonas form an alliance with fellow coach Kelly Clarkson to beat Shelton because "nothing else matters."
Jonas added, "I can’t wait to help these artists really build and hone in to find their unique voices."
Jonas will replace Gwen Stefani, who will be stepping away from the show. The Voice's 18th season kicks off in the spring.
