The "Peloton Wife" has escaped the clutches of her fitness-obsessed husband, thanks to Ryan Reynolds.
As People reports, following a week of controversy surrounding the premise of Peloton's holiday ad, actress Monica Ruiz has resurfaced in a cheeky ad for Ryan Reynolds' Aviation Gin.
The Peloton ad had been widely criticized because the husband in the ad gave the pricey bike to his already-fit wife. In the Aviation gin ad, Ruiz's character stares blankly for a few seconds in front of a martini before commenting to her friends, "This gin is really smooth." Her friends respond, "We can get you another one," and, "You're safe here," before Ruiz toasts, "To new beginnings."
Reynolds posted the new commercial on social media Friday with the caption, "Exercise bike not included." Ruiz told People in a statement, "When Ryan and his production team called about Aviation Gin, they helped me find some humor in the situation.
I am grateful to both Peloton and now Aviation Gin for the work and giving me the opportunity to do what I love to do.”
