Jessica Simpson claims in her new memoir that she “turned down” the lead female role in “The Notebook” because it required a sex scene.
The singer said she turned down the roll because they wouldn't budge on taking out the sex scene with Ryan Gosling and she was married to Nick Lachey at the time.
No one else involved in the film confirmed that Simpson was offered the part.
