After Cardi B's profane rant about the coronavirus went viral last week, several entrepreneurial fans layered it over some beats and turned it into a viral sensation, Page Six reports. Now the rapper wants her cut.
“The fact that this damn coronavirus song is charting on iTunes. Hold on … let me hit the DJ up and Atlantic so I can get my damn coins,” she wrote on Instagram Tuesday.
There are several Cardi B rant remixes out there, including one by DJ Snake, but it's the one by iMarkkeyz that is now charting in over 30 countries, likely because of its popularity on TikTok.
The outlet reports that if Cardi expects to see any cash, she'll have to prove that her contributions "could be considered an essential, recurring part of the song," and were not sure how that would happen.
